Abstract:
To be discussed the present needs in deeper understanding of the modern alloys solidification especially various type of segregation nature as well as ways of segregation influence on the final product properties.
It will be also outlined special needs of different segments of the power generation industry in the high quality forgings for land based gas and steam turbines.
Various technologies of ESR for huge forging ingots manufacturing to be analyzed in that regards. To be proposed also direction for R&D works.

CV of Medovar:
Was born 1954 in Kiev, Ukraine.
Got university masters degree in the field of thermophysics at 1979 from National technical university(Kiev Polytechnical Institute).
1982 - PhD. - Dissertation topic: Special HSLA steel of 09Mn2SiV-AKM for Gas pipelines.
1988 - Doctor of technical Science - Dissertation topic: Special steel of AKM type of HY-140 type.
Since 1979 - till now in the National Academy od Science of Ukraine.
1979-1990: in the Institute of Foundry Problem.
Since 1990 - head of the ESR department at the E.O. Paton Electric Welding Institute.
Author of more than 200 articles and about 90 patents.
