   Dr. Li is a senior scientist in Canadian Centre for Climate Modeling and Analysis (CCCma) of Environmental Canada. He received his Ph.D. in 1994 at Dalhousie University in Canada, and did his postdoc work in Princeton University in 1994-1996. Since 1997, Dr. Li became formal scientist in CCCma. His research focuses on the radiation simulation in global climate models. He has excellent expertise in both theoretical and modeling fields.
 
讲座简介:
   Atmospheric radiation plays an important role in climate modeling, and acts as an energy source for the Earth system. The specification of the gaseous transmission, cloud/aerosol and radiation interaction and radiative transfer are the three main tasks for atmospheric radiation. In the last 20 years much progress has been made in the three aspects, like the CKD method for gaseous transmission, 4-stream radiative transfer and realistic cloud radiation treatment in climate models. In this talk I will introduce the basic concept and main progress in atmospheric radiation. Also the unsolved problems will be discussed.
