Abstract:
Interest in Big Data research has triggered its application to services and service system innovation. This talk presents opportunities in theory and practice provided by this research agenda. Three cases of services and service system innovations related issues are used to illustrate the complexity involved in enterprises that aim to capture innovation in the delivery of business and technology related services. The first case is a research in the field of innovation clusters where the Innovation Value Chain is applied to the Chilean wine industry. In the second case,
we address the problem of eMarketplace sustainability. Applying the theory of value co–creation and service science (both of which have been applied and tested in other business fields) to the study of eMarketplaces, this research proposes a framework for eMarketplace sustainability. In the third case, we aim to address this gap in the literature by developing a virtual team-based model for banks.
