报告内容简介：We have proposed that the organization of consonant and vowel letters, which we call the CV pattern, constitutes a essential determinant of the perceptual structure of letter strings in alphabetical writing. The aim of the talk will be to present an overview of that empirical research and to outline how and when the CV pattern is extracted and how and when it may contribute to visual word recognition. One major conclusion is that future theories of orthographic representations will need to be enriched to incorporate more complex internal structure.
