演讲人简介：Katherine Ibbett is Reader in Early Modern Studies in the French department at University College London. Her research explores the relations between literary and political discourses in early modern Europe, and she also works on critical theory about emotion and affect. Ibbett received her BA from Oxford University and her MA and PhD from the University of California, Berkeley; she has taught at the University of Michigan as well as in London. She has been a Fellow of the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study at Harvard University, and a distinguished international visitor at the Australian Research Council’s Centre of Excellence for the History of Emotions.Her publications include The Style of the State in French Theater, 1630–1660 (Ashgate, 2009)and an issue of Yale French Studies titled “Walter Benjamin’s Hypothetical French Trauerspiel,” (2013) coedited with Hall Bjornstad. She was editor of Seventeenth-Century French Studies from 2010-2014.
