摘要:
There is a huge number of research works about the study of steels. However, some of the terminology on microstructures in steels, which have been used in research institutes or industries, are ambiguous. For example, allotriomorphic ferrite (Dube classification) is sometimes called “grain boundary proeutectoid ferrite” or just “grain boundary ferrite”, but these terms fails to distinguish between Widmanst?tten ferrite and allotriomorphic ferrite, both of which can form above the eutectoid temperature and at austenite grain boundaries. Another example, one of the unusual descriptions of bainitic microstructures, granular bainite is probably the most useful and frequently used nomenclature. The coarse ferrite plates, which are referred to the microstructures of granular bainite, do not really exist. They appear to be the sub-units of bainitic ferrite when thin foil TEM observation is made. This talk is intended to describe the morphologies of microstructures in steels and to summarize their transformation mechanisms where they are known. Some of case studies will also be presented in order to share the interesting of steels research.
