This talk will present the main features of conversational English, paying particular attention to some grammatical peculiarities, such as ellipsis, and to lexical differences between formal and informal English. These differences are particularly relevant for translators as languages differ in this respect, so language mediators need to be aware of this in order to produce adequate version in the target language.
