1985年获南京气象学院学士学位,1988获北京农科院硕士学位,2000年获加拿大 Alberta大学博士学位。现任加拿大遥感中心研究员,地表模型和水资源遥感学科负责人。主要研究内容包括陆地生态模拟,遥感应用,气候变化等。王树森为加拿大地表模型EALCO创建人。在主要国际刊物上发表论文80余篇。曾任欧洲宇航局,加拿大宇航局,NASA等项目评审专家和科学顾问。2016年被聘为中科院海外评审专家

The presentation will introduce some of the research activities associated with remote sensing applications in water studies at the Canada Centre for Remote Sensing (CCRS), including the production of Longterm Satellite Data Records (LTSDRs) and Value-added Products (VAP), SMOS and SMAP satellite soil moisture products downscaling , GRACE satellite data application in drought characterization, flood forecasting, and climate change impacts on glacier/permanent snow melt, remote sensing-based modelling of surface evapotranspiration and groundwater recharge, as well as assessment of water budget closure at different spatial and temporal scales.
