At high-energy collisions (like the LHC), multiple-parton hard interactions become very important due to the highest parton-parton luminosity achieved so far. In many cases, Double-Parton hard Scatterings (DPS) frequently happen in multiple particle productions, which is still a quite poorly known QCD phenomena and may be quite crucial in understanding the Standard Model of particle physics and in searching New Physics beyond the Standard Model. Heavy quarkonium associated production, due to their large yields, already become a very useful tool to study DPS at the LHC, where many relevant measurements have been performed by ATLAS, CMS and LHCb experiments. In this talk, I will discuss what quarkonium associated production at the LHC can tell us about DPS. In the second part of my talk, I will discuss something about the nuclear shadowing of the gluon density in nuclear via quarkonium production in proton-lead collisions at the LHC.

邵华圣,于2014年在北京大学物理学院获得博士学位,并于同年获得欧洲核子研究中心(CERN)的资助,在CERN理论物理部从事博士后研究。邵华圣的主要研究兴趣为高能对撞机上的粒子唯象研究,活跃于量子色动力学、电弱理论和新物理的唯象研究等领域。研究工作主要集中在重味物理,重夸克偶素物理,微扰计算,Monte Carlo产生子及其应用,已发表论文20余篇,其中5篇发表于Phys.Rev. Lett.
