摘要:
During this seminar, I shall provide a brief introduction to fiber lasers and soliton concepts that help to understand the great variety of ultrashort pulse dynamics obtained in fiber laser experiments. In particular, the dissipative soliton paradigm is used to interpret paradoxical dynamics, from soliton molecules to high-energy pulse formation and chaotic pulse propagation. We shall see that fiber lasers allows flexible cavity design and efficient exploration of novel laser dynamics.

Philippe Grelu has been Professor of Physics at Université de Bourgogne, in Dijon, France, since 2005. After receiving his PhD at University of Orsay (Paris XI) in quantum optics (1996), his interest moved to ultrafast nonlinear optics and mode-locked fiber lasers. He developed a key expertise in nonlinear optical cavity dynamics, with major contributions in the fast developing field of dissipative solitons. He has authored over 150 scientific publications and edited the book “Nonlinear optical cavity dynamics”, Wiley-VCH (2016). |
