  简介:

Abstract:
Polymer dielectrics are characterized by being lightweight, and their scalability, mechanical flexibility, high dielectric strength, and great reliability, and are therefore an ideal choice for many power electronics, power conditioning, and pulsed power applications. This talk will describe our most recent results on the polymer nanocomposites including ferroelectric nanocomposites, organic-inorganic hybrids and multilayered structures with high energy densities. Specifically, the introduction of multiple inorganic nanostructures into ferroelectric polymer matrix yields substantial enhancements in electric displacement and breakdown strength. The interfacial polarization and exchange coupling effect have been revealed in the polymer nanocomposites, which contributes to the enhanced dielectric constants of the composites. More recently, we have demonstrated outstanding high-temperature dielectric and capacitive properties in the 2-D inorganic nanofillers containing cross-linked polymer nanocomposites and the multilayer-structured nanocomposites, thus opening up a new direction toward high-performance flexible dielectric materials for energy applications under harsh environments commonly present in electric vehicles, aerospace power systems, and advanced microelectronics.
