Abstract: We explore the fast evolutionary pathway from the blue cloud of star-forming galaxies to the red sequence of quiescent massive galaxies based on the local advanced merger (U)LIRGs sample. They are located at the bottom right corner of the u-r color-mass diagrams, with about 95% of them outside the blue cloud. An analysis for the distributions of star formation history indicators (EW(H_alpha)、H_delta absorption lines and D_n(4000) values) on the NUV-r color-mass diagram shows that advanced merger (U)LIRGs could evolve from bottom right to upper right corner within 1 Gyr, which is consistent with the timescale for exhausting the molecular gas reservoir in adv-merger (U)LIRGs. We also investigate the quenching process for massive disk galaxies, as well as the outskirt of local massive early and late type galaxies based on the deep multi-wavelength survey.
