Abstract:
This presentation will focus on our recent efforts on the design and synthesis of photoactive porphyrinic metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) and carbazole-based porous organic frameworks (POFs) as tunable, heterogeneous photoredox catalytic platforms for organic transformations. These polymeric materials exhibit emerging new properties that are not attainable in the molecular form. Three classes of organic fluorophores, namely, donor-acceptor, hydrogen accepting, and pyrene-based fluorophores, will also be discussed for metal-free homogeneous photoredox catalysis, where the weak, non-covalent hydrogen-bonding and pi-pi interaction are employed to discover new mechanistic reaction pathways. |
