报告摘要:Large-scale supercomputers have been widely used in scientific research. In this talk, after a brief review of the development of supercomputer, we will present large-scale simulation of high brightness beams in accelerator for next generation light source applications. We will discuss about modeling of microbunching instability, show results from start-to-end simulation, and introduce global beam dynamics optimization in accelerator design.
报告人简介:Dr. Ji Qiang is a staff scientist, and deputy of Accelerator Modeling Program of the Accelerator Technology and Applied Physics division at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. He received Ph.D. from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1997 and did postdoctoral research at Los Alamos National Laboratory. He has been working on computational accelerator physics and applications to high intensity/high brightness beam dynamics for nearly twenty years, and is the primary developer of two parallel beam dynamics codes, IMPACT and BeamBeam3D.
