主讲人简介：安娜·玛丽·科斯博士现为美国华盛顿大学校长、华盛顿大学心理学系教授和美国种族研究系教授，科斯博士是该校历史上首位女性校长和首位拉丁裔校长。科斯博士长期致力于青少年发展研究，并积极推进教育公平和少数族裔群体的发展，鼓励女性和少数族裔在科学、技术、工程和数学领域开拓事业。在她担任华盛顿大学校领导期间，她坚持为学生提供世界领先的学习体验，推动具有全球影响的科研和学术研究项目，努力提高大学的整体创新环境，取得了显著的成就。因其在学术研究、教学和社会活动中的突出成就，她曾荣获美国心理协会颁发的达尔马斯•泰勒杰出贡献奖、杰姆斯·琼斯终生成就奖等众多荣誉。
讲座摘要
Our world now faces challenges that transcend geographical borders, cultural differences and traditional disciplines. Partnerships, like that between the University of Washington and Tsinghua University, will be essential to meeting those challenges. Through collaboration, we have the power to boost innovation that integrates technology, industry and entrepreneurship, and a shared passion for improving the world for all who share it. The Tsinghua-UW partnership is exemplified by the Global Innovation Exchange, which will bring together students, faculty experts and industry leaders in developing real-world solutions. This approach is integral to the University of Washington’s Population Health Initiative, a multi-decade project to help all people live healthier, more fulfilling lives. Together, by investing in partnership and creating the conditions for discovery, we can make that goal – and many others – a reality.
