报告摘要:The discovery of charmonium-like resonance X(3872) by the Belle Collaboration in 2003 has opened a new chapter in the quarkonium-like spectroscopy. So far more than a dozen exotic states have been observed in the meson sector and in 2015, the LHCb collaboration reported the first observation of two hidden charm pentaquark states. The emphasis of the talk is to give a brief review of the diquark model and its implications to predict the mass spectrum of pentaquark states. Later, the role of heavy quark symmetry in the production of pentaquark states through weak decays of b-baryons will be discussed in detail.


报告人简介:Dr. Muhammad Jamil Aslam is an Associate Professor of physics in Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, Pakistan. His major research interests include the phenomenology of flavor physics in and beyond the Standard Model and exotic states. Prof. Jamil received his PhD in theoretical high energy physics from Department of Physics in Quaid-i-Azam University in 2007, and got a position of Assistant Professor in Center for Advanced Mathematics and Physics in Islamabad in 2008, and soon moved to Quaid-i-Azam University, and was promoted to an Associate Professor in 2016. In between he continued his researches as a postdoctoral researcher or visiting scientist in Institute of High Energy Physics (Beijing), University of Alberta (Canada), and Center for Future High Energy Physics (Beijing). In recent years, Dr. Jamil is working on the projects related to b-quark phenomenology and on exotic states under the guidance of Prof. Ahmed Ali from DESY & Quaid-i-Azam University.
