报告摘要: Neutrinos are so far the only messenger for physics beyond the Standard Model. Their interactions with nuclei have provided evidence for neutrino oscillations, and will remain the major experimental tools to study leptonic CP-symmetry violation in detail. This seminar will first introduce the neutrino oscillation program of the T2K experiment, its recent results, and future plan. I will then focus on the challenges and opportunities with neutrino interactions, and introduce a new experimental technique, the so-called neutrino shadow play: in this play, each shadow cast by the neutrinos tells a story about the interactions. It disentangles kinematics from different sources and therefore enables precision measurements with neutrinos. The conceptual and experimental aspects will be discussed.
报告人简介: Xianguo obtained his BSc in Peking University in 2007, and later a master degree in University of Hamburg. After getting his PhD from University of Heidelberg for his work in the ALICE Experiment, he moved to Oxford to work on the T2K Experiment and later the MINERvA Experiment. His current research interests include phenomenology and experimental analysis in neutrino interactions.
