报告摘要: ATLAS is one of the four major experiments at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), investigating a wide range of physics from collisions of two proton beams at high luminosity. The ATLAS trigger system must make irreversible, real-time decisions to select a tiny fraction of collision events within a short time. The Level-1 Trigger (L1) provides the first and largest step of selection. This talk gives a description of the Level-1 Calorimeter Trigger (L1Calo), which is a major component of L1, together with the ongoing upgrades to face the new challenges posed by the upcoming increase of LHC proton beam energy and luminosity.
