报告摘要:To achieve higher thermal efficiency and specific power of modern gas turbines, increasing turbine inlet temperature becomes imperative. Turbine airfoil is operating in high temperature environment. A big part of airfoil cooling design is to determine airfoil metal temperature. Airfoil external heat load is the reason of high metal temperature and is determined by bulk temperature and heat transfer coefficient. They are called external boundary conditions. The objective of cooling design is to design a proper means to reduce the metal temperature to a desired level. Accurately predicting/determining airfoil external heat transfer coefficient is an important part in turbine airfoil cooling design process. Verification of heat transfer assumption in rig and engine tests is part of design verification. Providing design reference database is one of the goals for gas turbine researchers.

 

报告人介绍:

Dr. Luzeng Zhang worked in Solar Turbines Incorporated from 1993 to 2006, and he has been the Sr. Consulting Engineer there. He has worked as gas turbine hot component designer and industrial researcher and designed cooled airfoils and secondary flow systems. He has done many research work on film cooling, internal/external heat transfer, engine tests, etc. The publications list in well-recognised journals, books and proceedings. He has been ASME Member for more than 22 years and has more than 23 years of Working Experience.
