报告题目:Searching for additional Higgs bosons at the CERN Large Hadron Collider 报 告 人:Trevor Vickey 博士 英国谢菲尔德大学高级讲师 报告时间:2017年11月6日下午13:30 报告地点:清华大学刘卿楼105 主 持 人:杨振伟,副教授 报告摘要: The discovery of a Higgs boson with a mass of about 125 GeV has prompted the question of whether or not this particle is part of a larger and more complex Higgs sector than that envisioned in the Standard Model. In this talk, recent results from the ATLAS and CMS experiments on Beyond-the-Standard Model (BSM) Higgs searches are outlined. Searches for additional Higgs bosons are presented and interpreted in well-motivated BSM Higgs frameworks, such as two-Higgs-doublet Models and the Minimal and Next to Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model. 报告人简介: Dr. Vickey studied physics at the Univ. of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and completed his PhD in 2004 after making a measurement of W boson polarization in top quark decay with the CDF experiment at Fermilab in Chicago, USA. In January 2005, he began a postdoctoral position in the Univ. of Wisconsin ATLAS group and spent five years based at CERN in Geneva working on both preparations for Higgs boson searches and silicon tracking detector data acquisition. Dr. Vickey is currently a Senior Lecturer at the University of Sheffield, and was leading a group of about 100 ATLAS physicists searching for the Higgs boson in the decay mode involving two tau leptons when the Higgs boson was discovered in July 2012. His current research interests include Higgs boson properties, searches for additional Higgs bosons, searches for new physics in tau lepton final states (graviton, SUSY, Z-prime, third-generation leptoquarks), tau lepton physics, identification of hadronically-decaying taus, top quark properties and silicon detectors.
