Dr. James Xi Zheng, Lecturer/Assistant Professor

Title:
Securing modern vehicle systems and its way forward

Abstract:
In this talk, Dr. James Xi Zheng will first walk through recent works on securing over the air update to modern vehicle systems, how to prevent tampering of ECU programs, how to protect kernel operating systems using formal methods, how to detect security vulnerabilities using static and dynamic analysis, and how to carry out runtime verification to detect anomaly inside modern vehicles.  Then he will talk about future research agenda including possible attacks to VANETs, what are the existing solutions, and what are the proposed solutions.
