报告摘要
How to ensure the integrity of industrial infrastructures in transportation, civil engineering, energy production and distribution during entire lifetime? This question leads to a host of issues in terms of non-destructive testing and evaluation (NdT-NdE), notably by electromagnetic means as focused onto here. Yet main questions remain open, whilst a wealth of data is needed to take exploitation decisions and to manage risk in most proper fashion. Also, conditions of operation evolve due to the increase of performance from new technologies, operating modes, and system optimizations, from the impact of environment/regulatory change, and considering the need to have lifetime management and maintenance strategies. Still, present-day limits are many, like costs of interrupted production due to manual controls, and the fact that specific machines whether needed are expensive and custom-built. In addition, numerical simulation studies appear not fully mature yet to provide optimization guidelines, while there exist few robots in service effectively tailored to NdT-NdE. Consequently, one does need to develop both instruments and tools, as well as, and this is the priority of the speaker and his co-workers, computational modeling and imaging methods. Three examples of electromagnetic NdT-NdE will illustrate the above to some depth: microwave inspection of disorganized fiber-based composite laminates, eddy-current NdT of metallic work pieces via Bayesian inversion, and fast models dedicated to simulation of eddy current thermography.

个人简介:
Dr.  Dominique Lesselier was born in Lons-le-Saunier, France, in August 1953. He received the Engineering degree from Ecole Supérieure d’Electricité (Supélec), Paris, France, and the Doctorat d’Etat et Sciences Physiques degree from Université Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris, France, in 1975 and 1982, respectively. He is with the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) as Researcher since October 1981 and Research Director since October 1988. He was also a Visiting Scholar at the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of California at Los Angeles, Los Angeles, USA, from 1982 to 1983. During that sojourn he was the recipient of the R. W. P. King Award in 1982 from the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society. He is currently with the Laboratoire des Signaux et Systèmes, UMR8506 (CNRS, CentraleSupélec, Université Paris-Sud), Université Paris-Saclay, Gif-sur-Yvette, France.  As Director (2006-2009) of the Groupement de Recherche CNRS “GDR Ondes,” he managed a broad network of scientists involved in the science of waves. His research interests include development of solution methods of inverse and imaging problems, from mathematics to numerics to applications, and vice versa.  Dr. Lesselier is Fellow of the Institute of Physics and member of the Electromagnetics Academy and the International Union of Radio Science, Commission B. He was on the International Advisory Panel of Inverse Problems (2005-2016) after serving on its Editorial Board (1997-2004), and since 2003, he is Associate Editor of Radio Science. Since 1998, among many other tasks at national and international level, he sits on the Standing Committee of the Electromagnetic Non-Destructive Evaluation Workshop Series (ENDE) --- he as an example co-organized the most recent one of the series, http://www.ende2017.fr/ --- and the International Steering Committee of the International Symposia on Applied Electromagnetics and Mechanics (ISEM).
