报告题目:High power terahertz sources and broadband amplifiers towards terahertz range 报 告 人:Wenlong He, Senior Research Fellow University of Strathclyde, UK 报告时间:2018年6月13日 下午15:00—17:00 报告地点:清华大学刘卿楼402 主 持 人:赵自然 研究员 报告摘要: The demonstrations of high power (kilowatts), compact millimetre wave sources using both pencil and sheet-shaped electron beams generated from hollow cathodes, based on extended interaction oscillators and backward wave oscillators in W- and G-band are presented firstly. Afterwards gyrotron travelling wave amplifiers (Gyro-TWA), having the capability of both high power and broadband amplification at high frequencies (up to the terahertz range) are discussed. Experimental results at 90-100 GHz frequency demonstrating unprecedented frequency bandwidth, due to ideal dispersion properties of helically corrugated interaction regions, are presented and followed by future work in the higher terahertz range. These devices have many applications including electron spin resonance, fast data-rate wireless communications, high resolution RADAR and remote sensing.
