In this talk, I will give an overview of the current status of precision cosmology and highlight some of the unsolved problems that will impact the future research in CMB and radio astronomy. These include the cosmological parameter measurements, gravitational lensing and its measurements on neutrino mass, B-mode polarization, current constraints on inflation, and intergalactic medium. I will discuss the current measurements and their physical implication for the early Universe, and what new knowledge that radio experiments (SKA, HERA, HIRAX) can bring to.

Dr. Yin-Zhe Ma’s research focusses on observational and theoretical cosmology aimed at understanding the fundamental laws of the Universe and uncovering the nature of dark energy and dark matter. In particular: Radio Cosmology: 21 cm Intensity Mapping, Epoch of Reionization Extragalatic Astronomy: galaxy peculiar velocity field, thermal and kinetic Sunyaev-Zel’dovich effect, dynamics of the Local Group, near-field cosmology The Early Universe: the cosmic microwave background radiation, observational tests of inflation
He is currently a member of the Square Kilometer Array (SKA) team, core team member of Planck Low Frequency Instrument consortium, the BAO as Integrated Neutral Gas Observation (BINGO) experiment, and the Australia 6dFGS (Six-degree-Field Galaxy Survey) and TAIPAN survey.
