Title: Some personal views on quantum field theory: past, present, and future
Abstract: A knowledge of quantum field theory is not required to understand this talk. In fact, it is partially addressed to the question of why anybody would need to study quantum field theory.  I will give some of my views on quantum field theory. The talk is based loosely and partly on my textbook "Quantum Field Theory in a Nutshell."

Title:  Einstein Gravity: a random walk
Abstract: This talk, based on my textbook on Einstein gravity, consists of a random walk through an assortment of topics, from historical anecdotes to pedagogical tidbits. My focus is on the amusing, the violent, the little known, the rarely mentioned, and the long forgotten. The talk is aimed at advanced undergraduates and above; I do not assume mastery of general relativity. In particular, I comment in passing on contemporary Brazilian cinema.
