摘要:To achieve higher thermal efficiency and specific power of modern gas turbines, increasing turbine inlet temperature becomes imperative. Turbine blade is operating in an extreme environment which leads to big challenges for blade cooling including: high blade external temperature, complicated flow field outside the turbine blade, rotation and associated issues, cooling air limit and high temperature, aero and mechanical load. A review of flow and heat transfer field inside and outside turbine blade is given. From a designer point of view, discussion of the challenges in blade cooling design and possible ways to meet those challenges is presented. Summarized design experiences and manufacturability in blade cooling design as well as design approaches and examples are discussed. Step by step guidelines in design procedures and thermal analysis are provided.

 

 

报告人介绍:

Dr. Luzeng Zhang worked in Solar Turbines Incorporated from 1993 to 2006, and he has been the Sr. Consulting Engineer there. He has worked as gas turbine hot component designer and industrial researcher and designed cooled airfoils and secondary flow systems. He has done many research work on film cooling, internal/external heat transfer, engine tests, etc. The publications list in well-recognised journals, books and proceedings. He has been ASME Member for more than 22 years and has more than 23 years of Working Experience.
