报告摘要：
The work published in Nature Materials, and indeed other Nature journals, represents only a fraction of the research a Nature Journals editor encounters. Here, I will discuss the Nature Research journals ecosystem, discuss Nature Materials, it’s scope, and it’s editors in a bit more detail. I will also outline in general terms the submission and appeal process, and our policy regarding preprints.

报告人简介：
Stephen Andrew Shevlin is a senior editor for Nature Materials. Roles include assessing back half research content, commissioning front half content to highlight research or reviews in areas of interest, editorial writing, and representing journal in conferences. He received his Ph.D. degree in Theoretical Physics at London's Global University and conducted postdoctoral work at IBM Zurich (Switzerland), Oak Ridge National Laboratory (Tennessee, U.S.A) and Queen Mary University of London (London, U.K.). Before starting as an editor in 2017, he was a senior postdoctoral at London's Global University where he researched ab initio density functional simulations on materials and interfaces for energy and photocatalysis applications.
