报告摘要: For a century, clinical x-ray imaging as visualised the attenuation properties of the tissue. Refraction-based, or phase-contrast, imaging, is recognised as the go-to method for soft-tissue imaging on synchrotrons, but it yet to be translated into hospitals. It is particularly interesting for the imaging of the breast, where the increased contrast and resolution can help detect cancers more accurately, and the lung, where it can visualise the usually unresolvable alveolar structure. I will give an overview of my and my colleagues’ pursuit of the transition using grating interferometry. We research fabrication of the gratings, design and build grating-based CT systems, develop reconstruction methods and perform clinical studies. I will present how we could recently achieve the demonstration of grating interferometry increasing the dose efficiency of breast CT in the clinical regime, and explain how this milestone encourages the clinical translation of the technique. 报告人简介: Dr Michał Rawlik graduated in Experimental Physics from the Jagiellonian University in Cracow, Poland, in 2014. He then moved to Switzerland, where over the next four years he pursued his PhD at ETH Zürich. He defended his dissertation “Active Magnetic Shielding and Axion-Dark-Matter Search” in 2018, which was recognised as the best in the field by the Swiss Institute of Particle Physics. His interest changed then to translational refraction-based x-ray imaging. Dr Rawlik is now a scientist at ETH Zürich, where he mainly leads the development of the phase contrast breast CT device. “论坛”主请人联系方式: 王振天:wangzhentian@mail.tsinghua.edu.cn
