报告人简介:Professor Wen is currently serving as the head of Department of Aeronautical and Aviation Engineering (AAE), HKPolyU. He has authored and co-authored more than 300 scientific papers, conference papers and book chapters. He was also awarded 15 patents. His current research interests are in the areas of (1) Hypersonic/Supersonic aerothermodynamics; (2) Shock/Droplet and Shock/Bubble Interactions; (3) Detonation; (4) Flow Control by plasma actuators; (5) Technology development of UAVs and MAVs; and (6) Urban Wind Environment Simulation. Professor Wen is currently an AIAA Associate Fellow and editor/associate editor of the prestigious international journal—Shock Waves, and Advanced in Aerodynamics. He served as the associate editor of AIAA Journal and vice chair of the technical committee of fluid mechanics, ASME. He is also a member of, various key professional boards and bodies related to the Aerospace Engineering.

内容摘要:This talk reviews recent studies on shock wave/laminar boundary layer interactions (SLBLI) over compression ramps and double cones that are conducted at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and RWTH Aachen University. Three aspects are considered: (1) The instability intrinsic to shock-induced separated flows and the laminar-turbulent transition associated with the intrinsic instability; (2) Convective instabilities that contribute to destabilizing hypersonic SLBLI and trigger transition to turbulence; (3) Effects of high- enthalpy flow and leading-edge bluntness on compression-ramp flows and double-cone flows.
