报告题目: Assembly of Lightweight and Multi-Material Systems 摘要: Increasing environmental concerns and demands for high-performance products drive the needs for manufacturing dissimilar materials structures with tailored properties. However, fabricating these structures by conventional fusion welding is challenging. The generation of brittle phases (i.e., intermetallic compounds) is a significant concern and could negatively impact weld integrity, strength, and reliability. This talk will review Dr. Li’s recent work on creating dissimilar materials structures through additive manufacturing and different welding methods. In particular, she will focus on interfacial bonding mechanisms, defect generation, and the development of process-structure-property relations. She will also introduce new material characterization techniques developed by her group.
时间: 2023年11月14日 15:30-17:30 地点:李兆基科技大楼A404 报告人简介: Jingjing Li is a Professor of the Harold and Inge Marcus Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering at the Pennsylvania State University, University Park. Established in 1908 as the first industrial engineering department in the world, the department pioneers in both undergraduate and graduate programs in the nation, ranked 9th and 10th, respectively, according to 2024 US News. Prof. Li holds a PhD in mechanical engineering and MA in statistics from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, an MS from Tsinghua University and a BS from Beihang University, both in materials science and engineering. Prof. Li's research is driven by a deep passion for materials processing and characterization, with an emphasis on in-situ materials analysis, mechanical behavior, and the influence of microstructure on macroscopic properties. These insights are leveraged in industrial applications, e.g., joining, additive manufacturing, and composite production. She is an Associate Editor of Journal of Manufacturing Science and Engineering, Manufacturing Letters, Journal of Manufacturing Processes, and Journal of Materials Processing Technology. Prof. Li has been honored with many prestigious awards and was selected as an ASME fellow.
