报告摘要: The LHCb experiment, at CERN's Large Hadron Collider, has clearly demonstrated that precision studies of the properties and decays of heavy flavoured particles (b and c hadrons) can be achieved in the complicated production environment of proton-proton collisions. The challenge ahead is to best exploit the coming years of high-intensity LHC operation. LHCb Upgrade II is designed to meet this challenge, by exploiting innovative techniques in detection, reconstruction and simulation. The plans and opportunities of this exciting project will be described. 报告人简介: Tim Gershon obtained his PhD in 2000, from work on the NA48 experiment investigating CP violation in neutral kaons. He then worked on the Belle experiment at KEK until 2005, when he moved back to the UK and switched to the BaBar experiment. In 2008 Tim joined the LHCb experiment, for which he served as Physics Coordinator 2012-13, and is currently the deputy chair of LHCb's Upgrade II planning group. He is also a member of HFLAV and of the PDG, for which he authors reviews on CP violation and on determinations of angles of the Unitarity Triangle. “论坛”主请人联系方式: 张黎明:liming_zhang@tsinghua.edu.cn
