内容简介: A statistical model was developed for the reaction probability for N2O5 on the surface of internally-mixed aqueous inorganic particles. The reaction probability was modeled statistically as a function of temperature, relative humidity and chemical species. Data from seven laboratory studies were used to develop a logit statistical model for ammonium bisulfate, ammonium sulfate, and ammonium nitrate. All laboratories reported uncertainty values for their experimental results that were used to weight the importance of the reported reaction probabilities. A sensitivity analysis was performed using the meteorological and chemical output fields from the 2001 run of the U.S. EPA Community Multiscale Air Quality (CMAQ) deterministic model. Our spatial results were compared with those from three other parameterizations of the reaction probability for January and February 2001 for the hours 04 to 09 GMT. An advantage to our model is the careful specification of the spatial limitations on its use based on the occurrence of ice at high Northern Hemisphere latitudes. We have also taken into account the crystallization relative humidity (CRH) in the use of our statistical model.
