Profile of Dai Watanabe

He joined Hitachi Research Laboratory in 1987, and had been engaged in research and development of expert systems for power system control.

From 1996, he has been engaged in research and development of  train control systems.

ABSTRACT

The railway system is an important infrastructure even today, and the function improvement and high- reliability of the system are highly required. In recent years, various technologies , such as network, radio communication, digital signal processor etc. are positively applied to railway systems, and they have contributed to the achievement of high-speed mass transportation, a highly safe railway system and the improvement of comfort for passengers. In this lecture, it introduces the digital ATP system that is the latest signaling system base on the various digital technology. In addition, the future development of the train control system is described.
