Energy supply is a critical factor for economic development. The rapid growth of the global economy has posed challenges in protecting the environment. Global sustainability has been the driving force that changes the way we live and work in the 21st century. The threat of global warming has put a lot of urgency into the reduction of greenhouse gases emission from the combustion of fossil fuels. In recent years, the sharp rise in oil price has also provided the economic incentives for the development of alternative energy supply. This presentation will discuss sustainable energy supply options for power generation and the transportation sector. |
