Professor A. H. Sadka is the head of Electronic and Computer Engineering and the director of the centre for Media Communications Research with almost 15-year experience in academic leadership and excellence. He is an internationally renowned expert in visual media processing and communications with an extensive track record of scientific achievements and peer recognised research excellence. He has published widely in international journals and conferences and is the author of a highly regarded book on "Compressed Video Communications" published by Wiley in 2002. He holds 3 patents in the video transport and compression area. He acts as scientific advisor and consultant to several key companies in the international Telecommunications sector and is the founder and managing director of VIDCOM Ltd.

Abstract

  The talk will briefly present ECE at Brunel for both its teaching and research provision and then show some snaptshots of research findings the speaker and his team have produced in recent years in the area of visual media technologies. The talk will include a good amount of visual content that will enable the audience to appreciate the research achievements that researchers in the Centre for Media Communications Research at Brunel have managed to generate in recent years.
