摘要:
Consistent, realistic constitutive models for thermo-coupled elastoplastic behaviour beyond small deformation range is of central, fundamental significance to strength and safety problems in materials and structures, in particular, to a number of failure-portending or -leading localized phenomena including adiabatic shear banding, cracking, fracturing, impacting, penetrating, etc. Perhaps more essentially, elastoplastic deformations and thermal dissipations are inseparably coupled with each other, considering the physical essence and experimental facts. It has been an active yet difficult topic in continuum mechanics, material modeling, strength and safety of engineering structures, large-scale engineering computations and other related fields. Despite intensive research activities spanning well over half a century, however, fundamental issues still persist in various models and theories proposed and developed by a number of schools. In this talk consisting of two parts, we will relate and highlight selected events, ideas and perspectives which may be instructive, interesting and representative. Emphasis is placed on the latest developments and findings achieved in the past decade. Part I is concerned with usually treated purely mechanical case (isothermal) and Part II with a general thermo-coupled case.
