  简介:
摘要:
Multihoming refers to the technology where a single network has multiple connections to the Internet. Today, many companies require reliable Internet connections due to increased business requirements and network traffic load. As a result, there is an increasing trend of deploying multihoming, and this trend is likely to continue with the availability of inter-domain traffic engineering tools and techniques. I will start the talk with a brief discussion on current research issues on multihoming technology, and then focus on presenting our work on multihoming load balancing. Multihoming load balancing improves network performance by leveraging the traffic among multiple access links in a multi-homed network. Currently, no effective load balancing system is available to handle the inbound traffic in a BGP multi-homed stub network, where the traffic volume is unknown to the network and the route of the traffic is hard to control. In this talk, I will introduce our ongoing work, ILBO - an inbound traffic load balancing mechanism, to effectively balance the inbound traffic in a BGP multi-homed stub network. ILBO predicts and schedules the inbound traffic based on outbound traffic. It also provides an inbound traffic control scheme that can guarantee the successful execution of the traffic scheduling. At the end of the talk, if possible, I will briefly introduce the research in our group on wireless sensor networks in complicated environment and on multi-channel multi-radio mesh networks.
