Professor Paul-Louis GEORGE is the scientific leader of the GAMMA project-team, INRIA – France, and a Senior Researcher at INRIA (France). He is the author of many papers in Computational Physics, Mechanical Engineering and Numerical Analysis. He is also the author of two books Mesh Generation Application to Finite Elements with Pascal Jean Frey published by Hermes Science Publishing Ltd, and Delaunay Triangulation and Meshing with Houman Borouchaki. Both books are published by Hermes Science Publishing Ltd. He is also the author of two software currently distributed by Distenehttp://www.distene.com/en/.

 

 

The aim of the talk is to introduce the analyze and development of fully automatic mesh generation algorithms suitable, in finite element computations, for designing an adaptive numerical loop in order to obtain an accurate solution. To this end, numerous research topics are defined regarding:

n         Mesh generation algorithms: Delaunay method, advancing-front method, others approaches (hexahedral mesh generation); volumetric mesh, surface mesh, planar mesh; governed mesh (Euclidean or Riemannian).

n         Error estimates: a posteriori estimate (Hessian based or other methods).

n         Parallel computing: automatic a posteriori or a priori partitioning.

n         Data structures: CAD link, geometric domain definition, mesh data structures.

n         Computational features: graphic interface; software; post-treatment
