尼古拉斯H 斯特恩（Nicholas H. Stern）先生是经济发展与增长领域世界著名的经济学家，现任伦敦经济学院教授，及最近成立的“Grantham 气候变化与环境研究院”主席。斯特恩先生曾经担任欧洲开发银行首席经济学家、世界银行首席经济学家和分管发展经济学的世界银行高级副行长。斯特恩先生曾获剑桥大学学士学位和牛津大学博士学位。1993年7月当选为英国科学院院士，1998年当选为美国科学与艺术学院外籍荣誉院士。2004年斯特恩先生凭借对经济学的突出贡献被授予勋爵头衔。2009年，斯特恩先生将就任欧洲经济学学会主席。

Lord Stern is a world leader in the field of economic development and growth. He is Professor of Economics and Government at London School of Economics, where he is also Chairman of the new Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment. Previously, he worked as Chief Economist for the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and subsequently as Chief Economist and Senior Vice-President of the World Bank. Lord Stern is a Fellow of British Academy and of the Econometric Society, an Honorary Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He was knighted for services to economics in 2004. He will be President of the European Economic Association in 2009.
