内容提要：In the talk, the speaker will introduce the study of the brain, and how it is related to and distinct from the study of computers or intelligent machines. The speaker will then focus on the human/primate brain, and introduce its non-intuitive functions by its "vision as a window to our brain". The presentation of the talk will be in a Scientific American style to give a few glimpses of the experimental studies of vision, with some food for thoughts about human brain. Scientists, engineers as well as non-scientists/engineers alike should be able to get some ideas of the field. |
