报告1:To date there has been very little discussion regarding the required CO2 standard for transportation and sequestration. Furthermore, serious thought has not been given about the impact that such a standard can have on various CO2 capture in terms of process complexity and cost. Since the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) does not specify the impurity limits for CO2 transportation, the guidelines from several current CO2 providers for enhanced oil recovery (EOR) and pipeline operators have been regarded by some as the best practice. While this may be an easy route to take, such an approach can impose serious technical challenges and add significant costs, even though some of these constraints are, in our opinion, unnecessary.
The presentation will examine some of the CO2 specifications in literature that are relevant and will investigate whether they are necessary or applicable. Furthermore, technologies that can be applied to achieve such specifications and their costs will be briefly discussed.
报告2:There are some students feel that the energy discipline is very old and there is not a lot opportunities and not much future by major in this field. From his personal experience and observation, the speaker is intended to argue the opposite, that is, there are lots opportunities and there is great future in the field of energy. The talk will take about 45 minutes to one hour and follow by question and answer period.
Short Bio: Dr. Ligang Zheng has been a research scientist at CanmetENERGY, Natural Resources of Canada for seventeen years. His major interests are carbon capture, energy process feasibility study, energy system optimization. He used to be a teacher at Tsinghua University, Department of Applied Mathematics. |
