内容介绍：Design is Creation of Value. Toward that end, design involves defining the project goals as the appropriate means, and prescribing the physical characteristics of the created artifact, which when built, will lead to the accomplishment of the goals by virtue of the laws of nature governing the particular situation, thus eventually leading to the creation of the specific value as intended. Tall Buildings are complex entities with many requisite building subsystems. With numerous design possibilities, both with regard to intra- as well as inter-system organization, the process of designing tall buildings as synergistic organization of yet undetermined parts toward a successful whole is an enormously difficult task. Through this two part lecture, Professor Kim introduces complexity of tall building design issues, presents the principles of building systems and their integration, and discusses the cases of success and short falls in tall building design. |
