Abstract:
Research of anonymous communications has drawn much attention in both Internet community and wireless communication community. The former is more focusing on privacy preservation techniques to hide users’ communications and corresponding traffic analysis techniques to discover attackers using anonymous communication systems. The later has been mainly focused on Military uses in tactic MANET to prevent enemies from detecting and revealing communication relations between mobile nodes.
With the development of wireless technology, more and more general users adopt lightweight mobile devices in their daily life. One of promising trend is to use mobile device in cars to create Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANETs). Since mobile devices are usually operated in unattended environments, they are susceptible to various network attacks. Privacy is one of major security concerns.
In this research, we investigate into the anonymous communication protocols and performance evaluation architecture in future wireless mobile Ad Hoc networks. This talk consists of four main topics:
1. System and models of anonymous communications for mobile wireless ad hoc networks (MANETs).
2. Anonymous communication protocols of MANETs.
3. Traffic analysis: an IEEE 80211b based anonymous communication system.
Biography:
Dijiang Huang received his B.S. degree from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, China 1995. He received his M.S., and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Missouri—Kansas City, in 2001 and 2004, respectively. Since 2005, he has been an Assistant Professor in the School of Computing Informatics at the Arizona State University. His current research interests are key management, authentication protocol, attack analysis, privacy preserving techniques, and attack resilient network design. He has over 40 referenced publications in top-ranked journals and conferences. |
