David Flanagan received his B.S. in Chemistry from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (Troy, NY, USA) in 1995 under the guidance of Prof. Gary Wnek, and his Ph.D. in Polymer Science and Engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 2004. From 1998 to 2004, he moved with his Ph.D. advisor, Prof. David Tirrell, from Amherst to the California Institute of Technology (Pasadena, CA). He joined Wiley-VCH in Weinheim, Germany in 2004 as an Assistant Editor for Advanced Materials. His research interests span all of materials science, including nanotechnology, energy materials, biomaterials, polymers, and organic electronics.
