演讲者简介：
Travis Tanner is Senior Project Director at The National Bureau of Asian Research (NBR) and Director of NBR's Kenneth B. and Anne H.H. Pyle Center for Northeast Asian Studies. In these roles Mr. Tanner creates and pursues business opportunities for NBR, determines significant and emerging issues in the field, manages project teams, and is responsible for the success of research projects. Prior to joining NBR, he was Deputy Director and Assistant Director of the Chinese Studies Program at the Nixon Center in Washington, D.C. He also worked as a research assistant at the Peterson Institute for International Economics. Mr. Tanner's interests and expertise include Northeast Asian regional security, China's economy and foreign affairs, and Taiwanese politics.
His select publications include Strategic Asia 2009-10: Economic Meltdown and Geopolitical Stability (co-edited with Ashley J. Tellis and Andrew Marble, 2009), The People in the PLA: Recruitment, Training, and Education in China's Military (co-edited with Roy D. Kamphausen and Andrew Scobell, 2008), Taiwan's Elections, Direct Flights, and China's Line in the Sand (co-authored with David M. Lampton, 2005), and "Wagging the Dog" (co-authored with Nikolas Gvosdev, 2004). Mr. Tanner holds an MA in International Relations from the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) at Johns Hopkins University.
