Urgent: Henry Paulson’s speech time changed to 09:30-10:30am, April 7
Former U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry M. Paulson’s speech planned for April 7, 2010 at 3:30pm has been changed to 09:30 to 10:30am, April 7. The venue remains unchanged at Auditorium, Weilun Building (Room 121), Tsinghua SEM. The tickets are still valid; students without tickets are also welcome. 亨利•鲍尔森先生在布什政府期间担任第74任财政部长(2006.6-2009.1),在许多美国国内和国际经济事务中担任总统的主要政策顾问。 就任财政部长之前,亨利•鲍尔森先生在高盛集团工作了32年,1999年高盛集团上市,他成为高盛集团主席兼首席执行官。 亨利•鲍尔森先生还是一个不折不扣的环保人士,他是游隼基金会的主席,美国大自然保护协会的董事会主席,以及该协会亚太理事会的联席主席。 在进入高盛之前,鲍尔森先生曾担任白宫内务委员会成员,在1970-1972年间在五角大楼担任助理国防部长助理,在1972-1973年间作为总统办公室助理。 鲍尔森先生1968年毕业于常青藤名校之一的达特茅斯大学,主修英语语言。他还是美国大学优等生荣誉学会的会员,常青藤名校最佳橄榄球球手之一。1970年,他从哈佛大学获得MBA学位。

【Background Information】Henry M. Paulson, Jr.
Henry M. Paulson, Jr. served under President George W. Bush as the 74th Secretary of the Treasury from June 2006 until January 2009. As Treasury Secretary, Paulson was the President's leading policy advisor on a broad range of domestic and international economic issues. Before going to the Treasury Department, Paulson had a thirty-two year career at Goldman Sachs serving as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer since the firm’s initial public offering in 1999. He is also involved in a range of conservation and environmental initiatives having served as Chairman of The Peregrine Fund, Inc., Chairman of the Board of Directors for The Nature Conservancy and was Co-Chairman of its Asia/Pacific Council. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, Paulson was a member of the White House Domestic Council, serving as Staff Assistant to the President from 1972 to 1973, and as Staff Assistant to the Assistant Secretary of Defense at the Pentagon from 1970 to 1972. Paulson graduated from Dartmouth in 1968, where he majored in English, was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and an All Ivy, All East football player. He received an M.B.A. from Harvard in 1970.
