内容简介： 主讲人将以促进高校成果转化为主题，围绕促进产学研的联系方面，讲述英国政府采取新创意及措施共同推动高校发展出继传统的‘教’、‘研’以外的第三个任务：加快科技成果转化的步伐和影响。这次讨论中，会回顾伦敦高校在科技成果转化方面的深度和广度，并且探讨这些研究结果是怎么样帮助伦敦大学学院发展定位其全面的企业战略。此外，还将讨论英国与中国关于大学科技园区建设及产业转化的方面的政策问题。
Over the last decade policies framing the enterprise agenda for UK Higher Education Institutions (HEI) have consistently emphasised the potential impact of successful Universities on both regional and national economies (DIUS 2008, SAINSBURY 2007). Such policies have been backed by significant public financial resources to ensure that the UK HEI sector is able to compete globally in both the creation and the exploitation of cutting-edge science.
Collectively these initiatives have led to the development of a ‘third-mission’ for Universities - increasing the pace and impact of knowledge-exchange activities - whilst simultaneously maintaining, and improving their more traditional research and teaching activities.
This workshop will review the scale and scope of London HEI engagement in knowledge exchange activities and explain how these findings have helped shape UCL’s wide-ranging enterprise strategy.
主讲人简介：
As Deputy Head of Department and Deputy Director of UCL Advances, Dave's responsibilities include the development of teaching and research programmes that link UCL's scientists and engineers to the cutting-edge business practices being developed at London Business School. Dave is the Course Director for UCL's MSc in Technology Entrepreneurship.
Dave has worked as Business Development Manager in UCL's Technology Transfer Office, a Senior Lecturer in UCL’s department of Geomatic Engineering and was the founder and coordinator of the University of London MSc programme in Geographic Information Science.
He has first hand experience of the commercialisation of University innovation as a founder and director of an oil-services company set up to exploit his previous GIS-related research activities.
