The Brookings-Tsinghua Center for Public Policy and the Australian National University (ANU) will co-host the book launches of China’s New Place in a World in Crisis and The Great Crash of 2008 as part of China Update 2009. The books are published by the ANU E Press, Brookings Institution Press, and the Social Sciences Academic Press (SSAP) of the China Academy of Social Sciences (CASS).
The China Update 2009 brings an international group of authorities together to examine how China's increasing significance effects macroeconomic adjustments amid the current global recession, economic and financial integration, and issues of the environment and climate change.
