报告摘要: Electronic properties of nano-structures are frequently modelled using envelop function theory. The pieces wise construction of the Hamiltonian leads to ordered operators on the envelop function due to lack of commutation of these operators with spatially dependent material parameters. It was recognised that the degenerate light hole and spin orbit states are coupled via the interface induced `C' term in the Hamiltonian but the degenerate heavy hole state appears to be uncoupled. Explicit evaluation of the remote state interaction via the j = 5=2 d- orbital derived states shows that the two heavy hole states are also coupled in a similar way as the light hole and spin orbit states due to the presence of the interface. The origin of this term is similar to the warping term Hamiltonian.
