Abstract:
The biometrics is a field of technology to automatically identify a person using physiological or behavioral traits like the fingerprint, iris, face, hand vein, etc. It becomes a new solution to security management for its high security and convenience. Also, it provides new solutions which were not possible before. In this talk, some of new biometric technologies researched in biometrics, especially based on those carried out in the Biometrics Engineering Research Center, are introduced: these include the touchless fingerprint recognition, iris recognition at a distance, cancellable biometrics, mobile biometrics and biometric entertainments. Concluding remarks are made with an expectation for future biometrics
